Digital platforms cannot function if they do not belong to a specific jurisdiction and do not have the appropriate legal documents. Thus, legalizing a platform – whether it is a startup or even a mobile application – requires meticulous legal work.
For example, one of our clients created an idea for a dating platform. But only one step separated him from practical implementation and publication – the legal step. Therefore, we, as international law specialists, became a reliable support for this promising entrepreneur.
What came out of it? Check the following parts of the case!
A Dating Project That Connects Lonely Hearts
Recent years’ trends show a gradual decrease in the annual number of marriages. The reason is simple – people, for various reasons, lose interest in forming couples. In particular, due to difficulties in finding a partner.
Our client decided to fight this in his own way. He designed a platform for dating and organizing meetings that takes into account the interests and needs of different categories of users, age groups, and regions. However, he faced a challenge – registration in a jurisdiction and the full launch of the project.
Therefore, our task in this work was clear – to select the optimal location and model for establishing the business, as well as to prepare legal documents for the company. In other words, turnkey support.
A Typical Task, but with Some Nuances
What could be difficult about supporting a dating business? Actually, everything: from preparing the concept, business plan, to choosing a jurisdiction, registering in it, and so on. So these tasks became the core of the project:
- Find a region with optimal taxation for companies of this profile.
- Determine the management structure for the enterprise.
- Prepare the founding and legal documents for registration in the jurisdiction.
- Develop and implement the corporate regulatory legal framework.
- Integrate necessary documents into the website, such as the privacy policy, etc.
Said and done. Or at least preliminarily launched by the formed team. And it cannot be said that the process was too easy.
From Initial Consultations to Complete Turnkey Support
The work process cannot be called trivial, if only because of the project’s specifics. Agree, even on an international scale, the number of dating products is quite limited. Therefore, to meet the client’s needs, we:
- Compiled a list of potential jurisdictions and discussed all options with the client. It was necessary to determine the starting region of operation that would comply with the activity algorithms and its monetization.
- Registered the company on behalf of the client in the chosen jurisdiction. The cooperation was under NDA, so no details here. The only thing is – we handled it quite quickly and without problems, as we had prepared in advance.
- Developed the project launch algorithm. Also prepared a set of legal documents for the platform, namely: Cookie Policy, Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy.
- Opened bank accounts for the company and set up automation of accounting processes for the enterprise.
- Submitted an application to the payment processor to enable payment acceptance on the website, after which the system was connected via API (not by us, but by the IT team).
And thus, we prepared the client’s project for a full market launch. Without unnecessary challenges, problems, repeated applications, and so on.
And in the End – A Launched Service, Protected Intellectual Property, and Clear Legal Documents
Well, the client was satisfied with the service – and not without reason. We completed all legal procedures on behalf of the client in the shortest possible time. Currently, the platform is undergoing the final stage of technical maintenance and testing and will be published soon.
Can we put a full stop here? Probably not, since we already have an agreement in place for further legal support of the company. So, cooperation will continue – throughout the product’s life cycle.
